Classic Darlymple. I have read several of his books and have borrowed from his obsession with Indian history. It's dizzying heights and abysmal lows . His uncanny ability to sniff out gems of architecture from the Mughal period, or peruse literature , now buried beneath rubble of time is almost magical . He time travels ,across the subcontinent, and we are grateful to be his companions .
