Killer Soup - Missing its secret ingredient!
Despite a talented ensemble cast and some excellent performances, this series fails to make a lasting impression.
The Pros- Shot in the scenic Nilgiris and with a strong central storyline, an amazing star cast that delivers, especially Konkona Sensharma as Swathi, whose performance almost matches that of Tabu's in 'Andhadhun'. Nasser as the investigating cop and his sidekicks, along with their quips in Tamil (which are best understood- the subtitles don't do them justice!) are absolutely rocking.
The Cons- A convoluted plot with too many bizarre twists and turns, reminiscent of the roads in the Nilgiris. Manoj Bajpayee disappoints in his double role. The ending seems hurried and implausible, leaving far too much to one's imagination.
To sum up, inspite of getting all the individual ingredients right, what could have been a slick, savoury soup ends up being a botched up broth.
