I just finished this book. I had high hopes for this book. It's a very interesting concept. I imagined it would be thrilling, and I think it could have been. It spent half the book or more diving into the characters back stories. (Which some of them were way too hard to handle.) There were cliff-hangers at the end of chapters that kept me wanting to read more, but ultimately it lead to a weak climax and a rushed ending. I can absolutely see talent in this author, and I think this story had great potential. The pace ruined this book. There could have been more twists and turns had there not been so much focus on the characters back stories and inner thoughts. I feel bad writing this after reading about Frances being so upset about her bad review. 😆 So on the plus side, I did enjoy the characters. I have faith in this author and I am willing to read more of her books. But this one was not as good as I thought it would be.
