It is true to the book. If you didn't like the book, you will hate the movie. I found it beautiful and loved the casting.

I love Brenda, so I was immediately in. I hope more of this is made.

I found it charming. The costumes were elegant. The actors were glib. It did what Hollywood was supposed to do. It entertained. There is some period-almost-racist content that might offend some. For most, it will just be true to the times. A bit offensive, but true to form.
