A daring attempt full of tropes and loose ends. A film that's carried by its excellent soundtrack and the mystiqe of Anya Taylor Joy. A difficult subject matter layered like thick custard over a beautiful London scenescape. Mental health muddled with supernatural powers. A questionable end to a very sad, and at times distressing story.

A very well made boring film that flirts with a sci-fi theme but really lavishes in a gratuitous self-absorption. The film is slow paced with a few jump scares, no real plot line, no resolution, no ending. Whoever made this looks extremely pretentious and had no idea that their film was vacuous. It no way deserves the positive reviews it has been given and does not belong on a list of best sci-fi films, even if 2019 was a dry year. Skip this film unless you want a teenage edgy music based nothingness. And even then, you can probably find something better.
