I think this is a book which would appeal to people under the age of 25. Or at least some of them. I found this book to be maudlin and melodramatic. I get that sexual abuse is a dark and difficult subject and as a professional I have worked with sexual abuse survivors for many years. It was also far too long for the fundamentals of the storyline. I found the female protagonist quite annoying and the almost continuous rescuing of the female by the male was just so stereotypical, repetitive and boring.
