From Episode 6 on, after the death of Elsa's cowpoke boyfriend, the writers got completely lazy. The real joke is that these people go through all these trials (almost all of them die) when they could have just taken a train to Oregon! It's even written into the show, when they tell the cook they will pay for his train ride home from Oregon. This show should have taken place in 1843.
