I am genuinely am serious when I say that this is the worst movie I have ever seen. I have never been more angry at a waste of money. I saw the trailers for this and hyped about it. Well.. it was like riding a religious lazy river ride. There was a hint of a climax just for all of it to end in conversation and a message about how "god is always watching". I guess this supposed to be scary movie for religious hermit parents. I'm convinced the movie wasn't about Good vs. Evil, but about how an atheist finds his faith. Because that was literally the underlying story.
I see now that the trailer was comprised of the only few interesting scenes in the movie slapped on some spooky music. It was misleading to be something interesting and it could have been an interesting but clearly. It was targeted for a specific demographic and passed along as a "horror movie".
Misled is the word I'd describe this movie. Misled you to believe this was going to be a good psychological horror from a surprisingly good trailer, Misled you to believe the theme of the story was, and misled you to believe the story was going to climax just to fall extremely flat and leads into a bunch religious messages.
I honestly feel bamboozled. It looked good, the story sounded interesting, and really could have went somewhere. But no, it got really boring fast and just caked with someone else's personal beliefs driving the story. I'm sure the folks at Fox News adore this movie. Thanks Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I believed in you and you graced me with the worst movie I've ever sat through.
