I understand why viewers are divided on this movie. Doctor strange 2 was truly a 180 from the emotions (joy) I got watching both doctor strange and wanda vision. That in itself was the hardest thing to get past. It was cool, the story was fine. The acting was fine. The effects were fine. It wasn't necessarily what the audience wanted, expected, or asked for. But it's what we got. Nothing about the movie seemed like a "mistake". Every step was thought out and intentional. I did not feel "joy" after this movie. It definitely made me feel something. I felt entertained (definitely not bored) and ready to find out what happens next. I enjoyed seeing the dark side of magic - but ultimately miss the balanced enlightenment that the master brought to the table in the first doctor strange. Ultimately it felt like a Mother's Day Bloodbath and unprepared viewers may not know how to feel afterwards.
