I finished reading this book about four (4) days ago, trying to decide my review. When I started to read the book I was sixty-eight years old; I am now sixty-nine (69) years young. This was my very first gay romance novel. I'll say this that the author, this book kept me coming back for more. My emotions modulated by what I was reading, at times I was laughing when Kei interacted with the twins (named after the seasons), a bit angry with Kei's reaction to Jace, and the callous way Jace treated Kei. Ryan being a close friend to Kei was at times a help and at times hindrance. Ralph and Bridget, especially Bridget was a REAL problem for me to handle. She really despised Kei, though at first she had the appearance of really wanting to help to Jace keep his father's business, when all along she was setting a trap to have Jace dump Kei and reunite with her. Not being the "sharpest tool in the shed", I had some difficulty keeping straight the will and business agreement, and felt remorse for Kei in finding out the truth. Nobody likes having their emotions and self image stepped on. But bravery won the day when Jace took a bullet meant for Kei. Not quite, but I almost shed a tear at the final wedding. All-in-all I greatly enjoyed this easy to read novel. Not five (5), but rather ten (10) stars, and for the author who has earned her place with those who have discovered the skill for grabbing hold of the reader's attention, and not letting go until the very end.
