The animation is gorgeous and it pays homage to so many adventure flicks before it (Indiana Jones and Avatar can be seen as an inspiration as well). It leaves the audience with a message about conservation and family relationships. It's a great movie to watch, and there are so many clever aspects and details. Ignore the bad reviews- none of them are about the film itself. It's just a bunch of people complaining about the same sex relationship representation.
