The movie presents a depiction of gender and cultural dynamics that existed in the 14th century, which unfortunately have continued into present times. So, although the film is entertaining, it also has a serious message; challenging us to examine societal issues that have persisted and prevailed for centuries.
Generally, well acted with Jodie Comer, who was excellent, giving the most compelling performance. The telling of the story from the prospectives of each of the three main characters allows the viewer to more closely examine the personalities and complexities of each.
As a fan of Sir Ridley Scott’s films, I would rank this movie in the upper 90% of works he has either directed or produced.
