I think it's quite good. He reveals some very personal things. I love how he as a young person was so passionate about film and filming things. That was good to see. The film tells only half of what Val's persona was in the film world. It evolved, or rather, devolved. The Dr. Moreau set was a major turning point. He himself indicates this vividly but not completely. That's all I will say. He's a very brave artist to have risen above his cancer, not to have been defeated by it. On the contrary, he's proven himself victorious on many levels, and I think this film does a good job of showing that. He's a tough dude, a very dedicated actor. I knew him. We worked together in the Colorado Shakespeare Festival of '88 where he played Hamlet and I played the ghost. He was kind, extremely generous, a good friend.
