Roxy Meanor

Despite being beautifully shot, I found this movie difficult to follow, and therefore get into. They took too much time developing this guy's super depressing background (and his reason for ending up here in the first place) and yet they managed to forget to explain the how and the why behind all of it. The last quarter of the film hits all the creepy notes and honestly feels more like a waking nightmare than a deal with.. a demon? Time itself? It's never made clear.. that has gone awry. Tbh, that's about all I can say without giving too much away. I'd basically call this movie someone's really messed up acid trip turned into a feature length film. It felt like the director was trying to be clever, but it mostly just came across as confusing and irritating. The main actor was truly unlikeable which just made it that much more difficult to get through in one sitting.

One of the greatest movies I've ever seen. There is SO much depth to this movie. I never thought something so ridiculous (fighting with actual dildos) could also make me cry 10 minutes later. This movie really is the full package and i feel sorry for those who didn't like it, because it was hilarious and amazing and beautiful and sad all in one.. it was everything, everywhere all at once

Spoiler free review: Absolutely phenomenal show that was well cast/acted, well directed, beautifully shot and had a completely limitless storyline that could have progressed in, quite literally, any direction and not have gone wrong. I was extremely disappointed to find that due to the writer's strike, we will not be getting a second season after all. I truly hope that the writer's strike ends soon and that amazon reverses it's decision to cancel it because this show was truly amazing.

Older movie. I remember watching this when it was first released. Do NOT read anything about it before seeing it. The payoff is worth it.
