Having loved the book, I was sorely disappointed to see that the first scene of the show is the protagonist (a good guy) burying a dead body. A few scenes later, one of the supporting characters in the book is shown to be outside of the dome, meaning that he can’t play the same role he originally did. All of the characters have switched both roles and/or personalities, and for seemingly no reason. This could maybe be an okay show for people who have never read the book, maybe. It’s a huge disappointment to see a masterpiece of a book be completely torn of what made it so good in the first place.
