I have seen the original stage show and own the dvd, which i love to watch. This film has the songs and dance but tells the story in an easier to understand way. My 12 year old grandaughter has never been able to finish watching the original, losing interest, but she loved this film. There is comedy, tap dancing and is easy watching. Would definitely watch again.
