The hype of the violence in this movie has Been overblown by the press. Yes there is some violence but far less than one would see in most thriller films. It is a timely commentary of being disenfranchised from society. Being looked down on and minimized. The acting by Pheonix is superb. The music is haunting and wonderful to listen to. The cinematography captures the mood of the film in wonderful tones and textures. See it and judge for yourself.
