I absolutely loved the first Avatar, with the exception of so much emphasis on military and human greed. This movie was simply an extended version of the same story line, only in water.
I wanted to love it but I was thoroughly disappointed. It was long with many beautiful moments but simply repeated many of the old story lines and was so predictable. It made me angry that movies continually promote the same old historical dogma and warfare. Are we really so lost as a species that we cannot learn and enjoy special effects without war, brutality, greed?
Then to leave the cliffhanger basically setting the stage for rinse and repeat.
I am usually an optimistic person who believes in focusing on the positive in whatever the circumstance. I simply cannot endorse this movie as it was brutal to watch.
Like so many others said, the story had way too many predictable plots and not enough character building and congruency. It was a huge disappointment for me and unless things change I will not look for the sequel.
