If you watch nothing else in 2021, this is it. I watched through swollen red eyes and tears. I am glad they used the real Jill in this series. I was their age in the 80's but in Oz, gay people were forced to live their life in secret. AIDS, back then was exactly like was was portrayed and cupboards were bulging with gay people so scared for their secret to come out, loss of jobs, friends,family.....................it was a dreadful existence when AIDs entered into the mix. I was a beard many times in the 80's and I watched 3 die of the disease, that would be alive now due to the drugs we presently have. Watch at what that generation suffered so that the LGBTQ could be born and celebrated. Funny, hindsight. Sydney has the best Gay Mardi Gras and yet home to what was termed ' *oofter bashing and so many many hurt or died.Watch It's a sin and Keely Hawes character was common

I watched this on the plane, just as well as I cried and cried. This is an amazing film and gets you thinking and reflecting on Val's situation. This gets you reassessing your life and counting blessings. It also explains what was written about him, totally unfair. Jack & Mercedes are great kids. Keep fighting Val, an amazing actor and man
