Haunting and raw. Excellent portrayal by Michael Fassbender who lost an unhealthy amount of weight to better adapt to the role of Bobby Sands. A brilliant look into a period of time when men inhumanely confined resisted in the only manner left to them. The unfathomable act of a hunger strike and ultimately, death by starvation. A sad, desperate, violent period of loss, grief and the struggle for independence encapsulated in the lives and deaths of these men.
