I didn't really care if Ellie was gay, in Left Behind I thought the relationship between Ellie and Riley was cute. So, no, this isn't from the perspective of a misogynistic male. This story is quite messy, the fact that we play as someone else besides Ellie and Joel to the sequel of their own game feels strange, but I rolled with it. But to find out that we play Abby even after she kills Joel is just insulting. So, it's your typical revenge story with Ellie killing off all of Abby's friends just to find out where Abby is, and while you're playing as Abby ND is just trying really, really, really hard to make sure you don't hate this character for killing Joel. So, in the end Ellie finds Abby attached to a cross? Woah, the person I've been killing pregnant woman and been slaughtering 100s for is right in front of me vulnerable and unable to fight back, let's just take her down from the cross instead of instantly killing her. After Ellie brings down Abby and Lev (another character) Ellie has a flashback of Joel, and she decides to nope and demand Abby to fight her. So they do, Ellie loses two fingers and is about to successfully drown Abby, but NO. Ellie has another flashback of Joel and lets Abby go. Are you kidding me?! If anything a flashback of Joel would fuel Ellie's rage and make her drown Abby even longer. God... and in the end, Ellie comes back and isn't able to play the guitar, Ellie's last memory of Joel. Oh yeah did I mention that Dina and her son (yes Dina has a son with Jesse) is missing by the end of the story? God, this is insulting, it pretty much ruins the legacy of the first game for so many more reasons, the only reason why I'm not giving this a 1-star is because the graphics look incredible and the gameplay is pretty good.
