Just saw Alien Romulus on the big screen. If you keep an open mind and don't try to compare it to 1979's Alien with Sigourney Weaver, you might enjoy it. I felt the acting fell flat, aside from the Andy character. The plot was overly predictable and relied on dad jokes and references to the franchise trailblazers. This crew of youngsters (they all look under the age of 20 in the film) evidently have no previous knowledge of the xenomorphs, facehuggers, or chestbursters, but pretty sure the rest of us do, so it felt like they're serving up yesterday's lunch with a different dessert but still one you've had before. I would not pay to stream this movie, and won't feel FOMO if I never see it again.
