I'm surprised at the amount of positive reviews. I suspect this series is watched by women who enjoy the exploits of a strong female lead. The acting is very average and clichéd, accuracy and military doctrine take a back seat. I.e a group of a dozen soldiers would never jump about 30 to 40 metres off a cliff into a river together with their helmets fastened! This series is over dramatised and under acted.

If you are a history buff and interested in the Napoleonic wars, don't bother watching. The film follows the usual trope of playing fast and lose with historical fact. It's such a shame because it wouldn't have been difficult to make a historically accurate film that was just as good and entertaining. I won't list the blatant inaccuracies but they are akin to Churchill leading the charge up the beaches on D-day! A film spoiled I'm afraid.
