My wife bought Midway for me for 'Father's Day' in a bundle of classic movies like '30 Seconds over Tokyo' with Spencer Tracy. I thought Midway was an old war movie from the late 1940's or 1950's. What a surprise! The movie was released in 2019. So of course the combat visuals were outstanding. I would say that this is one great movie for people who like historically based war films. The production values are super, the script was excellent, the cast was also outstanding. I had pretty much written Woody Harrelson off, but he really did a great job playing Admiral Nimitz. I also have to tip my hat to Ed Skrein who does a great job of playing Dick Best, an American fighter pilot. Skrein is from England but the accent he adopted for the movie made him sound like a guy from Newark, New Jersey...great job. All in all I highly recommend this film to people who enjoy high action combat movies.
