I am halfway through this book and will see it through to the end, then may come back here and edit my review. Although I've enjoyed many of Jodi Picoult's novels, I am finding this one to be dragging on. While her research on Ancient Egyptian history is in my opinion fascinating, there is just too much of it in this Fictional novel and so far it has very little to do with the outcome of the storyline. This information on how/why the Egyptians mummified their loved ones and the characters learning to decipher Egyptian alpabet was used more of a "filler" and to show off her ability to research. The story's bottom line so far is pretty simple; Dawn is mad at her husband for developing a relationship with his assistant. Dawn takes off by plane and the plane crashes. She survives the crash and rather than go home or to her planned destination, she heads off to Egypt to visit her former lover (out of spite), then comes home. I could have summarized all of this on one page. Halfway through now, so stay tuned but based on other reviews here, I suspect that the rest of the book will be much of the same.
