Some impressive sequences... and some very clichéd ones. All kind of patched together in a very incoherent manner. Lots of bluster and style but not much content. And much of what there is has been ripped off from Star Wars.

Disappointing. Some interesting concepts but overall I found the characters unconvincing, even bearing in mind they were seen from the viewpoint of an artificial person. Much of the dialogue just sounded clunky. I wonder how many glowing reviews this book would have garnered if written by an unknown? (Or whether it would have been totally ignored.)
