Okay so I’m sort of obsessed with this book and the whole saga. It was action, adventure, mysteries etc. Some parts are a bit violent and it really depends how mature you are. For example you could be an 8 year old reading this review and if you think you can handle it go for it. But the author makes everything seem so real like you’re really there. I know this book looks a bit- odd but trust me I’m in love it with. (By the way I’m Kenneth Oppel’s biggest fan :)

Sooooo this is like my fave novel. I don’t know how to exactly say this but it’s an amazing book! It’s actually part of a series. Anyways it’s amazing how these animals we call bats are brought to life! Like I know they are living but they have feelings, and characteristics. I would say this 8+ since there are some scary parts and the author makes an amazing job to make it seem so real. Also this book may seem... odd since it’s about bats but trust me you won’t be disappointed!

I love this whole series. At first if you read the whole series you may be disappointed since Shade the main protagonist isn’t there for a while. But the creativity to even come up with a story like this is extravagant! Everything makes sense and ties together. Definitely should read!

The way Kenneth Oppel describes the setting, the characters and their characteristics seems like you’re standing right there watching it all happen. I read this originally thinking it’s part of the “Silverwing Saga” which it is in a way. But reading this by itself still gives a great story. I couldn’t put this down and it’s still one of my all time favourite books. Definitely recommend for readers as young as 8. Depends the reading level, also since there are some sad parts and tragic loses to the main protagonist. But overall it’s amazing 🤩!

So this may seem like some “common” train fight story. But the way the author puts the story together seems different and unique in a good way. This is one of those books where you could read it again and not get bored. It’s like a whole adventure across the world on one train. Amazing book! I’m 12 and I love it <3

Everything starts ordinary. Just a regular life of three teenage “humans”. But then there’s a big twist and some people go on adventure and discover something insanely crazy but incredible! This is a great book I would say. Maybe 10+ or younger I’m not sure. Anyways I’m 12 and I’m in love with it. Can’t wait for “Thrive” last book in this series to come out :).

I’ll tell you this is a great book! It’s not completely sci-fi and all about aliens and stuff. There’s great stuff in between. Amazing book!

the plot is good actually amazing how everything coms together in this series. it is very good for screen production but as a book its not my favourite. The author repeats things a lot and I don't get a: "Going into a book" feeling. this is just my opinion but no hate towards the author. and I respect your opinion too.
