This is a mesmerising tale of a young abandoned little girl growing up completely alone and unprotected in the coastal marshland of North Carolina which is beautifully evoked by the author’s elegant prose and the plot has an unexpected twist in the tale at the very end which makes it gripping till the end! Absolutely brilliant
