Honestly I watched Genius:Aretha first and it blew me away. Cynthia Erivo embodied Aretha 's character so much that I felt as though I was watching Ms. Franklin herself. That being said, while I thought Respect was a good movie, I didn't feel as though Jennifer totally captured the essence of Aretha.
