Simon Baker completely takes the spotlight in the story. He is "The Mentalist". Almost all episodes (except for the Red John Arcs) are standalone and can be watched/skipped in any order, although there are minimal changes in relationship dynamics. I like the format but would've loved more if the other team members had more input in the investigation despite just being Jane's mouthpiece and saying what he already had deduced.

For most romances, the confession is the end. Let's set out into this unique masterpiece where the story succeeds the confession and precedes the future path of a guy who finally doesn't look back and moves on with life. Bittersweet but realistic and wonderful.

When you think the plot is following a cliche, think again. Because this story will leave you questioning the nature of cliches. The slow but steady nature of change in one's personality, their inner mind and conflict, the positive side of everyone's character and how it shapes the story is absolutely mesmerizing. Attention to detail and portrayal of the daily lives is also outstanding and realistic to an extent.

A love story that is as bright and wonderful as its fleeting. Knowing that your beloved isn't going to last and still trying to achieve the love, making their final days shimmer with joy and continuing to live on their memories - a true masterpiece. The strength portrayed by the protagonist is truly admirable and clearly portrays the sorrow of a limited lifespan.
