This book simply blew all my expectations away. I knew it would be an extensive historical account of the street fighter franchise in all its many incarnations, what I didn't expect was just how beautiful it would be. The outer cover is somewhat bland and colour deprived, so to open it and see the inside of the book so totally saturated in vibrant colours and stunning design was a real surprise. From the character sketches, the anime look visuals, the digitised sprites and up to their stunning new Street Fighter V incarnations, it's a truly breathtaking homage to the game which had enthralled so many gaming fans for the past few decades. So why only four stars and not five? Despite the stunning visuals and intensive design, it does fall slightly short of being perfect for a couple of reasons, mainly due to the lack of material for some characters.
