Before writing this review I read most of the reviews people wrote before me. Tbh most of them actually gave it above average stars but then the review is all about the movie, and not just of its music.
The movie plot is quite good and it actually has something that can keep the audience connected and confused. Who is plotting what and who is framing who, you don't fully understand it until the end.
But where the movie suffers badly is in its acting department. Emraan Hashmi, as an actor, always has a tremendous potential, but sadly this movie came when his 'Serial Kisser' gimmick was very popular. Directors were giving him same type of roles, and sadly audience was all up for it. So sadly, he didn't had much to do. Dino Morea, as an model turned actor, also gave his best shot. But same cannot be said for Udita Goswami or Tara Sharma. With the latter also having a good potential in acting, but sadly was underused.
But thanks to the popularity of Himesh Reshammiya at that point, the music was a blockbuster hit. So much so that the poor performance of the movie didn't matter much. I remember as a teen, I too was seriously in love with most of the songs. And that's the legacy Aksar has in our minds.
So overall, I would say it's a one time watch for anyone who havn't watched it. If you are a 90's kid like me, you will surely remember and love the music again. That one extra star I give to this film is for that music and nostalgia.😊👍
