This is one of the best films ever to slip under the critics' radar and should have been nationally acclaimed as thoroughly entertaining and one of the best pictures of the year (1998). The casting for this film was perfect, a couple of whom have since passed on, leaving behind a legacy of charm, warmth, and performance excellence.
I purchased the DVD and always play it as part of the annual St.Patrick's Day celebration at our house, and generally more often if I'm in the mood for a warm, wonderful tale of friendship and clever scheming. The mischief of their plan and the liveliness of the script and its dialogue never disappoint.
God bless ya Ned, . . . and Jackie, and Michael, and . . .all the vivid characters that brought a thoroughly entertaining story to life!
