This was amazing!! I watched it because I've recently become a fan of Cha Eun Woo after watching True Beauty and Gangham ID. As much as I enjoyed watching the typical romance storylines and scenes in that last two titles that I mentioned - I also had some serious problems with what it was potentially promoting. However, Rookie Historian was like a soothing balm to the issues I had with the other titles. What a fantastic show! Beautifully shot and with a story one that keep making you hit 'next episode'. I finished all 20 episodes over 2 days during my Christmas break and now I'm regretting it - wish I could have savoured the experience.

Not sure why this film got so many bad reviews - I thought it was light hearted yet emotional film. SPOILERS AHEAD I would have preferred the storyline to have been a bit more brave and not gone back to the comfortable family reunion all Hindi movies usually end with. Vikram was the one that got away but guess Hindi films still can't comprehend a housewife making moves like that. Still a good watch.

Love Idris Elba and I have seen the first Luther Series but this film was not it. I'd say watch it for Elba, but that's it. All the 1 star reviews have summarised well the issues. I also kind of found it a little boring as we know who the killer is from the beginning. There was no brain work required from the viewer and therefore no thrill

Basically, it's Raazi ... But the other way around. The guy is the Indian spy. Only Raazi was 100 times better. Generally an easy watch, but it isn't as gripping as Raazi. If you haven't seen Raazi yet, watch this. And then watch Raazi lol *SPOILERS AHEAD* From a war history student's point of view - it's very frustrating watching spy films like this because at the end, it kinda glorifies nuclear weapons and the states that have them while vilifying states trying to acquire them. I know it's a Bollywood film and therefore obviously will be with Indian Nationalism in mind but I found the monologues and character developments to be very predictable, cheesy and boring. The end also really annoyed me. What was the point of putting your blind pregnant wife on a plane to Dubai when you're not gona be there with her?? I understand he didn't plan on that - but he knew it was a real possibility because there was a letter ready. All because he didn't want his child to be known as the son of a traitor ... I mean come on. At least she was with family. What she Gona do alone in Dubai with your son?!?!? Grrr ... Expected more. Raazi basically set a high standard of spy films for me. Go watch Raazi 😅

Really surprised, didn't expect to enjoy the film so much! I clicked to watch it with very little thought and was overwhelmed with joy when it turned out to be so amazing! Mindy Kaling - you are a genius.

This was a lovely heart warming film. I absolutely adored it and it's deffo a good watch with your loved one.
