I originally skipped this show expecting a sophomoreic spoof of Star Trek. While scrolling through Hulu I came across it again and gave it a shot and I'm so happy I did. Seth McFarlane has pushed the proclivities of Star Trek into new and exciting frontiers. He pushes the boundaries of conventional storytelling, using allegory to look at many of our contemporary discussions, difficulties, and debates including race, sexual orientation, and partner norms. He does this all the while sprinkling in his unique and hilarious comedy.
This show deserves way more acclaim than it receives.
