Belfast is charming and highlights the power of pluralism to encourage tolerance and broad-mindedness. When it's lost, hatred of "the other" often replaces compassion and understanding. Besides, the child actor playing young Kenneth Branagh is adorable. Though it's tough to watch his peaceful and innocent world unravel, hope lies in his goodness and absence of prejudice--as does ours.
