I was so disappointed with the ending. The ending was one of those old horror movies that finish with a new victim.
Nevertheless, I love that Jesse Eisenberg has a role that has more action than being a geek. He suits it very well. The performance of the leading actress is also admiring.
Actually, I liked the plot of the movie. It was unique and interesting, however, the ending just didn't make sense for me, like it didn't even show why can't the victims get out of the neighborhood while the alien just drove out of it.
I have read the meaning conveyed by the movie from other reviews (reflecting life: having family and then growing old until you die). I understand it and I also felt it when I watched the movie.
Still, life is not really like that. If it wants to convey how life goes, it shouldn't be being locked in a fake reality. Sure there are dark times but it doesn't last. Life is living in the good and bad moments. The film was just depressing as I think of the couple that was not able to truly live their lives. They didn't have a choice. The message will only leave the audience having a negative outlook on life.
Maybe others like it, but sorry I don't.
