For its time 1984, this movie is okay. Sure some aspects of it could've been done better. For example, if the town is full of homicidal children, then why on earth are they toying with the couple. I mean I get that they need to be live for the story. But this is a town of kids that killed all the adults for this corn demon. Malachai has this aparent constant bloodlust. So why hold back. Especially when(SPOILER ALERT) later in the movie he betrays Isaac to do what he wanted anyway. It's just bad wrighting. And yes, for its time it was probably scary. I know when my mom first saw it she developed a fear of Nebraska. I'm 23 and watched it and I couldn't help but to laugh at some things. Like, why would you even THINK to leave your wife alone after you found this seemingly deserted town, and found two very very young kids? Like the hell? But as stated, for its time it's alright it's still a good movie. If a bit stupid and silly sometimes.
