First let me state that I've been a Star Trek fan my whole life. I'm old enough to have watched TOS in the 1960s.
Anyway, I took Patrick Stewart up on his offer to watch Star Trek: Picard for free for the month of April. Unfortunately, I couldn't be more disappointed in this show.
To begin with, the absurdity of Picard warping through space with a crew that is about a third of his age; quartered in a holo deck that was made to resemble his 18th century home, was almost too much to take.
But that was minor when you consider the creators shamelessly plagiarized the main story line from Battlestar Galactica where AI believe they are human. And, what a coincidence, Picard's young Romulan friend carries a Samurai sword ala' Michonne in The Walking Dead.
However, the last straw for me was in episode 5 when the Tal Shiar agent was playing with a 24th century Rubik's cube. I turned the episode off right then and there and have since deleted my CBS All Access account.
