In the end, was war the issue? I found myself disgusted with the attitude and actions of the main character. His selfish and sometimes cowardly actions ultimately led to the death of his fellow airmen. This story made a mockery of sorts of a situation where brave men and women fought, and died for an ideal that we today so often take for granted.
