This documentary portrays a shocking reality that exists, and is completely hidden from your day to day life.
Shannon was able to capture the intensity and emotion behind Patima's job of freeing men from slavery. It is not easy to watch these men tell their history, and I can't even begin to imagine what they have been through, as words won't ever be able to do justice to the events they have experienced.
The great cinematography, and the close ups of their faces, capture the displays of emotions as they reach out to long lost family. It is overwhelming to see that.
I wholeheartedly recommend watching this, but make sure you save an afternoon, or a day, to think about the experience, and what your role is in this modern day slavery as a consumer, and ultimately what you can do to stop this as a fellow human.
