It took me a while to get into the show (around season 4) but have become a hard-core fan since. While I may not "live" the experiences portrayed, they seem credible but mostly because the cast and their positions within law and order allow us to see these situations from multiple perspectives. I like the fact that the family dynamics play into the storylines but don't overshadow them. And the fact that this series asks some heavy questions that are important to explore.
