Within side the first 50 minutes of watching this movie you'll want to execute both of the main characters children.. annoying beyond belief..but stick with it, there is an almighty twist in this tail that sets it apart from other alien invasion stories!! I really enjoyed it.

I am still scratching my head, was there ever a reason given for the couple being shot in Brussels? That bit of the plot eludes me... Also, his ex partner being the bad guy, saw that coming from the moment he hung back in the hotel lift leaving Susan on her own to be bumped off...there were other predictable outcomes within the story... But hey, Mr Washington is bloody awesome as always, overall a very entertaining film.

It's an enchanting little tale, but at the same time you can't help but notice big holes in the plot, so much unexplained and way too many huge coincidences. It's a well meaning film, and you'll enjoy it just as long as you ignore all the above. Those that like to have a good blubber had better have the kleenex ready.

Most modern day musicals cut a familiar path, Rock of ages is no different. The plot is predictable, Slabs of cheese are distributed evenly, why oh why the usual 'inclusion' box ticking? that mandatory gay moment! I'm sure that even gay people cringe when it's done this badly!! . Look past these slight irritations and what you have is a fun movie that never takes its self seriously. If you lived through the period the story is set in then it's a musical trip down memory lane, if you didn't experience that time first hand then its an education in how good music once was and by comparison how bad it is today. I watched this for the first time on a well know streaming service. I didn't expect much and musicals are not normally my thing, but I was pleasantly surprised and entertained in equal measure. Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx was brilliant casting..he looks every inch a rock legend and sings surprisingly well. It's well worth at least one viewing so give it a go.
