SO far this series is what Star Wars should have been. It is adventurous, humorous, touching, intriguing, so many positive traits. This is the space opera (space western touted during the original three. ) The main purpose to sell toys that ruined ep 1-3 has not really reared its ugly head more than a few cute characters that really stand on their own as believable characters (so far). So far the series hasn't released an episode that is basically a prior movie and it has not gone on the murderous "I hate old people so kill them off" theme of episode 8. If they take this series seriously and delve into the Star Wars universe instead of rehashing/ killing off stuff it will be a classic.
