I was so skeptical when my husband wanted to start this series. I have never thought Sasha Baron-Cohen was funny and I wasn’t in the mood to watch something serious. The first episode started pretty chaotically and it was a
bit difficult to keep the plethora of characters and locations straight. That said, it was so worth sticking with!! I had little to no knowledge of the transition of power in Syria. Names like Yassir Arafat and Mohammad Bin Laden we’re tied into the story of Eli Cohen who was a spy from Israel who was able to insinuate himself into the highest levels of the Syrian government. It was beautifully written, filmed, and acted. Mr. baron-Cohen has emerged as an artist to be respected!
