I cannot give high scores because although I enjoyed the black & white and historical scenes of art and scenery (some of the cinematography was really cool), the emphasis on the amount of stair climbing was annoying.
The main characters seemed too old to be bobbing around doing nothing (it made me not care about them). Tom was just to psycho in this version (so I could not have any feelings for him).
Dickie, besides being silly (to me) was just spoiled and entitled (I know that's the character but I felt really bad when Jude Law was killed).
As for Freddie (why??) I was totally confused the minute I saw him, he took me away from the story, as my brain concentrated on whether it was only me that initially thought he looked liked a teen aged boy? Later in the apartment I thought; is that a woman? I had too stop everything and Google the actor to confirm. They were too distracting for me.
I watched it over a couple of days but had to see it thru to the end (that's just me) but I did not enjoy it as I hoped I would. Loved The Talented Mr. Ripley movie 9/10 but can only give this version 6/10
