Both Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman deliver mesmeric performances in “ The Father “ the direction is superb and clearly illustrates the huge emotional turmoil that occurs to everyone involved in and around dementia , you see it beautifully acted through the eyes of the sufferer so deeply confused and also through the eyes of those so deeply distressed around him , it’s a very moving and ultimately tragic movie about this dreadful illness .
