These characters and storyline don’t excite me. Backstory about racial tension is specious, exploits obvious stereotypes without the obligatory layers. Not one scene in this show was believable. What did the entire storyline about her family reveal or contribute? The lesson: Black people must forgive Nazi’s?? What else, not getting it. Also, not buying Octavia Spencer as the love interest of the two men portrayed. Sorry, but her altruistic motives and depth is not believable.
