you need to get through the first 2 episodes to experience one of the most immersive, titilating and intense television series of your life. the first season, is amazing unpredictable and adequately portrays mexico through not only gallardo's eyes but the average mexican, the tourist, the politicians and of course the DEA. it perfectly portrays the slow descent into chaos and violence as the cartel gains more power, the chaos reaching a crescendo in season 2.
season 2 wasn't that great considering it was predictable, sometimes with lazy writing, and certainly not as chilling, i will say that this is based on actual events so they couldn't take the liberties to just spice it up for us. the second season also includes a few duds, where i think to subsitute the now incarcerated Rafa and Neto's lightness that the show brought, they had an episode featuring quavo??? which was reminiscent of a fever dream. overall though, really enjoyed it. would recommend (warning for explicit violence though but you know that)
