This show is terrible. Drags in most places. Dialogues are so dull. Kate Winslet keeps having sex with men so easily (consent is not clearly given) - it makes it so obvious that the story is written by a man and the director is also a man. The character of Veda is overblown. Both main female leads are annoying. Considering the time that the story is set in, Mildred faces almost no challenge in setting up or running a business - completely unrealistic. Kate Winslet is so boring and dull and stupid in this role - it is a mystery as to why she won a bunch of acting awards for this role. She is capable of so much more and really should have exercised some discretion to make the story less cringe worthy.
